"My intention was to get away from myself, though I knew perfectly well that I was using myself. Call it a little game between 'I' and 'me'" - Marcel Duchamp (Tomkins: Duchamp: A Biography, page 160)

Accommodating the video Snowman (2015) in a specific setting, this work aims to respond to the changes of China‘s urban consumption environment and the resulting combination of culture, environment and recreation.
Snowman is made of lard, which will be processed to produce dregs and oil during the preparation of the exhibition. This work highlights the subtle intervention of the space while recalling visitors‘ childhood by its tastes and images. Also, lard represents the human body while its dregs refer to individuals repressed by the real world.
Food sculpture is an art form that transfers daily food into artistic works to highlight the brevity of food. References are Song Dong's long-term work Eating the City, Paul McCarthy's use of ketchup in his works, and artists' involvement in food processing, including Shimabuku and Rirkrit Tiravanija.
